The food was really good! It was our first time going and no one really helped us without us having to request for it. The staff was nice just seems like they are used to having regulars that when new customers come it's whatever for them. I'd say that's the only downfall experience we had. Loved that we could order food and it brought to us without having to pick it up from the boats if we didn't want too. All in all we definitely will be back.

I recently had dinner here and left with a really good impression. The restaurant has a calm, welcoming atmosphere that makes it a great place for a casual lunch, date night, or dinner with family and friends. It’s clean, comfortable, and has a relaxed vibe that lets you enjoy your meal without feeling rushed. The food was excellent from start to finish. The sushi was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. You can tell they use quality ingredients, and each roll tasted like it was prepared with care. We also ordered a few hot dishes, and they were just as good. Everything arrived at the table fresh and at the right temperature. The service was another standout. The staff was genuinely friendly, attentive, and always nearby if we needed anything. They were happy to answer questions about the menu and made sure our drinks were refilled without us having to ask. I'm from out of town, and my boyfriend clearly wanted to impress me. Because this was my favorite meal of my whole trip. I'm a south Florida local so my whole life I've never gone too far north for stuff. If you are in North Miami lakes. You MUST stop here. I've had "conveyor belt' sushi before. And it was nothing to write home about. This takes the same spin and just does it 1000 times better. The quality is phenomenal. The sushi is literally made right Infront of you and set on the plates to go on a little canal ride and you grab your pieces. You can special order sushi to be made specifically for you if you arent feeling the selection floating by. But the selection the chefs put out is very good. The prices are by the color of the plates, most range between 4-9 dollars per plate. They do have cheaper plates but I didn't see them too often I won't lie. Me and my boyfriend easily both stacked up almost 11 plates EACH. We had quite the meal here. The salmon sashimi was so fresh. A favorite for sure. I am a huge eel lover. Shima is honestly one of the best Japanese restaurants in the Hialeah area. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. You can tell they care about quality and presentation. The sushi tasted incredibly fresh, and everything came out quickly. The staff was also very friendly and attentive the entire time. They made the experience feel welcoming and relaxed instead of rushed. The restaurant itself was clean, and had a great atmosphere for dinner with family or friends. After trying so many places around Miami, this is definitely one I’ll keep coming back to. Highly recommend. When you arrive, make sure to put your name on the waiting list. They’ll ask for your name, the time, and whether you prefer to sit by the sushi boat bar or anywhere available. This helps them move the line faster based on seating preferences. Just keep in mind that most people want the sushi boat bar experience, so be prepared to wait around 20 minutes outside.

I recommend going here and sitting at the bar for your first time, get to see the dishes up close and personal as they go by on the boats floating along the bar river thing. Once youre familiar with the menu, a la carte ordering is the way to go. Highly recommend getting a variety of rolls, sashimi, nigiri, gyozas and shrimp or chicken plates. Crisp and cold tall glass of Saporo always hits!
